Eagles Good, Carcase Necessary

Today on my way to work I felt or noticed a stirring in my spirit. This scripture came into my mind.

Matthew 24:28
28For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

The understanding that followed was not a complete surprise, I have considered this unusually vague in understanding passage many times, but the timeliness is perfect. You may or may not have heard the old adage, "You are so heavenly minded your no earthly good". Usually spoken by a critic impatient for you to do their bidding, but none the less somewhat true, though not always in correct context (has the Lord said?). Often spoken at the urging of some unsavory, familiar spirit, to criticise someone spending to much time with God. The correct use would be found here:
1 Peter 4:15
15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
or here,
2 Thessalonians 3
10For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
But certainly not here,
2 Timothy 2:15
15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

This adage could certainly have been devised by a carnal minded person busy with the things of this world. Frustrated that there weren't enough hours in the day to accomplish all that their overachieving heart desired. Not that the physical necessities are to be taken lightly, but at the cost of the investment in eternal life, inconsequential. Apparently they value one scripture over another (assuming that they are knowledgeable of Godliness), and likely do not hold to this;
Matthew 6
25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Not that we would condemn them, no, John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. The point is, are they (you) alive in the Spirit, open to, aware of , having faith in, ears to hear, gift of God. Knowing the Comforter, lead by the Spirit, worked out my own salvation, confident before God, worthy to be kept from the evil to come, oil in the lamp, not of my own strength, found waiting on the return of Jesus, our Lord.

I am truly surprised at the number of people who claim to even be "Filled with the Spirit", and yet either don't or can't tell the difference between good and evil. (Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.) I find that most of my witnessing time is spent trying to convince people that God the Father, Jesus the only begotten Son, and the Holy Spirit, are in fact exactly who the Bible, the inspired Word of God, said they are. Fully and completely. Not just a small wedge, not just a legalistic portion, not barely enough to know, but an overwhelming, proof positive, beyond a shadow of a doubt, same as the Book of Acts and all the letters, God confirming Himself, lead into all truth witness of the Spirit.

I've heard some say that eagle in this passage means vulture, eating the carcases of the dead, in reference to the birds called to eat the flesh of mighty men. I've heard some say that the eagles are angels sent to collect the righteous before Jesus return.

But this is what I believe. That we (those who will stand ) were created to worship God, in Spirit and in truth. He formed us while we were in our mothers wombs. He called us and choose us for such a time as this as vessels unto honor. We believe God is who he said He is and will do what He said. We have faith, little strength and we please God. We have been saved by the Blood Of Jesus and filled with His Spirit, the promise of the Father. We have ears to hear. We have honed our senses to discern good and evil. An others voice we will not follow. We do not look for signs, though we know that Godly signs will abound. We look to no man, for Jesus is our Shepherd. We have learned to wait upon God, and be anxious for nothing. We are not moved by news from angel or man, as we do hear the voice of God. God has a place of deliverance, safety and provision. God will take from the undeserving and give it to those who are. We are changed from glory to glory. We are seated in heavenly places. We judge men and angels. And when WE SEE HIM WE WILL (already)BE LIKE HIM. It is true that mortality will put on immortality, though in a way, if you can see it, we have received it, that is, those who will stand. We are the eagles. We will soar above the wrath, we will soar above judgement, for we are the elect of God, we soar above the earthly doubt and fear of the flesh. We have overcome the flesh. We have been gathered by the Spirit of God. We know in the Spirit as we are known, by the Spirit of God, by all who have entered in. This does not happen by might, not by power, but by the will of God, by the Spirit of God.

Philippians 2
5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
(Of course only if you believe!)

So in summary, while the tribulation period is unavoidable, if you are fearful it will have torment. While unpleasant, it's more like a refining finishing school for who will endure. We are likened to eagles who fly unimpeded in the midst of the storm, far above the winds of destruction. Remember:
Romans 8
1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
