Lesson's in Matthew

The Lord stirred me in these scriptures yesterday in church. He showed me them after speaking to me about rebellion. Satan rebelled against God, and when we resist the spirit of God, we are rebelling against him just how Satan did. We have to be obedient.

Matthew 6

24No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed.
32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

-We need to just surrender to God and believe his promises. We cannot take any thought of our previsions but know that God is good and he knows of our necessities.

Matthew 10

28And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
32Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
40He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

-We can't be afraid to speak truth when God would have us to speak it. We can't hold back truth from those that need to hear it.(if the spirit leads you) We can't fear men. We can't be respecters of men's ways, but our respect and fear should be in the most high God. We are not worthy if we love, or put first any person including our husbands, wives, or children before God. God has to be the treasure of our hearts, and we need to seek him as the pearl of great price. To please him has to be our hearts one desire.

Matthew 14

23And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
24But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
25And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
27But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
29And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
32And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
33Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Jesus walked on water after he fed the multitudes of people,(5,000 people) with five loafs of bread and two fish. Peter, after asking Jesus to let him walk on water, began to doubt and to sink into the water. Peter only started to sink when he started to look and the heavy wind and waves and to doubt. We can't look to our own understanding, but we must put on the mind of Christ. All things are possible to them that believe. God is faithful to us, all we have to do is ask and believe.

God bless, Chad

Good teaching Chad.
This is a lesson that can take many faces. Sometimes we have to relearn it because of a new spin or twist but it boils down to trying to serve two masters.
Those who are wise learn to look for the truth first, avoiding a painful realization.

Words of truth and life to those who will let them be added to them.

God is, without a doubt, speaking to those who will let go of themselves and believe His word. If we continue on the path that He has set before us, a path without expectations and doubt or fear, surely we will live lives that our pleasing to God.

Continue to feed the sheep, even as God feeds you. Those who love God will do this.

God bless,
