I had a vision last Thursday at church. It was of a man and his wife who were rowing down a river in an old wooden row boat at a very gentle pace. The man was rowing the boat and the woman was just looking at the man and carrying on a conversation. There were many people in the river at the one end and the row boat had already passed through those people. The man and the woman were asking people as they passed them up in the boat if they wanted to get in the boat, and most people declined. The farther they got down the river the less people there was in the water. In case it is not already clear, I will just state that everyone in the river, including the man and woman in the boat, were all going in the same direction in the river but, obviously the boat is a better means of travel. Soon after, a huge wave poured out down the river and wiped out all the people walking in the water, however, when the wave finally made it to the boat, it was so small it just slightly budged the boat and that was the end.
The understanding I got from it was that the man rowing the boat is God. The woman is the church. God delights in doing the work for us just as a husband for his wife. The wife(us) kept her eyes on the husband(God) all the way through the vision. Even when the wave or destruction came. We need to look to God for everything, he gives us all that is worth knowing. The people in the water were trying to follow Christ, but in their own strength and understanding. There were many people at the beginning of the river, and as you looked up the river, there was less and less people. The boat had already passed up the vast majority of the people, and the smaller portion of people traveling up the river were asked to get into the boat as the man and the women were passing them up. If we do not get in God's boat when he comes, there will not be another opportunity to do so because the times are so close. God is calling, and we need to hold fast to God's word and we can't resist the spirit of God. We can know all the scripture in the world like the back of our hand but it means nothing. We must live in the spirit of God. The letter kills and the spirit brings life. We need to move on to perfection leaving the letter of the law, and follow after the understandings in the spirit. By following after God's spirit, we will be fulfilling the written word because God is the same yesterday today and forever. We need to let God teach us and be all that the word says he is. Again, the letter kills and the spirit brings life.
God bless, Chad

Amen Chad,
As you were speaking this vision Thursday I could see it as well. The boat was perfect for rowing, it glided along barely making a ripple. Just like the Holy Spirit, peaceful and beautiful. Oh that people would cease from their own labor and enter the rest of the Father. People, even well intentioned, struggle to walk in the river, they can never work hard enough to keep up to God, not realizing the plan of God, sadly foolish.

Amen. This is a good understanding. I just feel like saying "get on the boat!" to all those who are ever seeking yet never coming to the knowledge.
Grace and peace,
Rachel.
Amen, Chad.
As Dave said, I could see it when you shared it at church.
As Rachel said, this is a good understanding of what is going on right now. And how God views things. Those that are in the boat have their eyes fixed on Him, always hearing the voice of the Father and always being led by the Spirit of God.
God, give your people ears to hear and eyes to see that the day of darkness does not overtake them.
God bless,
Ryan
