Unpopular Bible Verses

Yesterday I commented on Michael Boldea’s blog, “A Different Gospel”. He has not posted the comment yet, I hope he does. If he does I will include it here as well. It contains the cumulative wisdom of man (not completely, it is a list of Christian denominations). Which by the way, is foolishness to God. I never cease to be amazed at the ability of man to pervert truth, of which, I am sure the devil has no small delight in. If any man, or all men, get on a denominational doctrine bus or train to hell, it is their own fault, because they refused to seek truth for themselves, they just get on board. Of course those who helped them get on that ultimate train wreck, who are deceived themselves, will actually receive a greater degree of suffering. God seeks those who will worship Him in truth. God’s word says a house divided against it self cannot stand. All those divisions that are not of God? You guessed it, not good, they won’t stand.

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Below is a list of , Hhmm, complaints, errors, things that have kept and will keep so called saints out of heaven. They are reasons why God rejects people. I realize that the Word says as many that call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Do you think that those who were in the churches below did not do that? They were all within 70 years of Jesus, their errors, sins, didn’t just go away. Neither will the sins allowed in hundreds, thousands of churches today escape the notice, the detection of God. Being Holy and perfect require God’s help. It requires knowing the Truth, all truth. Who can or will show us this truth? The Holy Spirit who leads into all truth.

Revelation 2:4 I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. 9 I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. 13I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, where Satan dwelleth. 14But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. 15So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate. 20Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 22Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. Revelation 3:1 I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. 2Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 9Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie 11Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. 16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

People, PhDs, Doctorates, theologins, denominational supporters, those who think themselves wise, all miss, by their own wisdom, the truth of God’s word. Some will say, well who do you think you are? No one of any consequence, just a person who can see that what is written doesn’t agree with what many say. The single largest error I see is the “doctrine” of the Holy Spirit. Unless Paul changed his doctrine, beyond a shadow of any doubt, all in Asia were well aware of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Look around you, what do you see? Does someone have to explain away some scriptures? Does someone say that what it says is not what it means? Does someone say we have it without the written evidence, proof? Did God mysteriously change His mind? If what you see doesn’t agree with what is written, what will you, personally, do about it?

Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

A very serious charge, consequence in the extreme. But who that truely has understanding could speak a word against the evidence (1 Corinthians 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.).

1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Mark 19:38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? 39And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 10:24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. 25It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord.

Past this, there are many “denominational discrepancies”. Why would anyone want to “tempt” God? In God we find liberty, in religion we find restriction and regulation. This is just a very, very short list of denominational scriptural denial arrogance that is obvious. That is unless you are caught, snared by the fowler, on the wrong bus.

Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Ecclesiastes 8:8 There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.

Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

1 Corinthians 11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 30For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

John 7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

Revelation 11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed

Revelation 13:10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

Acts 5:39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

Zechariah 11:9 Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another. 10And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people. 11And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 13:58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

If you can reconcile all the above, and not speak in tongues, be careful where you stand lest you fall. You have just denied the promise of the Father, the Spirit that leads to all truth. The love of the truth is not in you, in truth, in fact. God will not deny Himself. Without the earnest of the Spirit, you, no matter what you believe do not have all truth.

Amen Michael,
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.”

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God,

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Dave,

These are true words. Hard to swallow for many, I am sure. Reading through, we must judge ourselves, being careful where we stand unless we fall. But having judged ourselves, that we are judged of no man, we must then press on to hear what the Spirit is speaking in all of these words.

It all comes down to the love of the Truth being found in those who will accept nothing less than all that the Lord has promised/spoken.

I pray that God would give us wisdom and understanding, and that all who read this would sincerely be moved to go before God in humility and ask Him for the Holy Spirit. It is only by the Spirit that we can and will be led into all truth. If we have accepted, in any measure, any of these denominational, man-made traditions, we cannot walk in all truth.

God be with us,
Ryan
