LIFE ON THE VINE!

John 15:1 I am the true vine (LIFE), and my Father is the husbandman (VINE DRESSER/GARDENER). 2Every branch in me (PERSON) that bears not fruit (FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT/PROOF OF GOD IN US) he takes away: and every branch that bear fruit, he purges (PRUNES) it, that it may bring forth more fruit (FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT/GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT/MINISTRY/GOD IN US). 3Now you are clean (SAVED/FORGIVEN) through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4Abide in me (MY WORDS/HOLY SPIRIT/EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD), and I in you (THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT). As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself (IN THE FLESH DWELLS NO GOOD THING), except it abide in the vine (JESUS/HOLY SPIRIT); no more can you (BRING GODLY FRUIT), except you abide in me (JESUS/HOLY SPIRIT). 5I am the vine (THE LIFE LINE/THE ATTACHMENT), you are the branches (THE VISABLE, THE EARTHLY): He that abides in me (STAYS CONNECTED IN TRUTH), and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit (EVIDENCE OF BEING IN THE VINE/PROOF/WORKS THAT JESUS DID/SIGNS AND WONDERS): for without me (JESUS/GOD) you can do nothing (ALL THING ARE DONE BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD). 6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered (NO TRUE FRUIT); and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned (FOOLISH VIRGINS/SLOTHFUL SERVANTS/UNFRUITFUL). 7If you abide in me (LIKE A TREE PLANTED BY THE RIVER OF GOD/THE HOLY SPIRIT), and my words abide in you (STRONG MEAT/FAITH), you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you. 8Herein is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit (BE AS HIS MASTER); so shall you be my disciples (A DOER OF HIS WORDS). 9As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you (GOD IS LOVE): continue you in my love (FAITH WORKS BY LOVE). 10If you keep my commandments (DO GODS WILL/EVERY WORD THAT PROCEDES OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD), you shall abide in my love (THE REST/THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER/THE HOLY SPIRIT); even as I have kept my Father's commandments (WRITTEN IN JESUS HEART), and abide in his love (IN THE FATHER AND THE FATHER IN JESUS/SAME SPIRIT).11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy (STRENGTH) might remain in you (WRITTEN IN YOUR HEART), and that your joy might be full.

Comment:
It would be helpful to understand this scripture if you knew about growing grapes. The importance of pruning is paramount. It ensures the quality and quantity of a harvest. It ensures year after year performance. That understanding though, is carnal at best. On the other hand, if the Holy Spirit does not lead us into truth our understanding will come from our own imagination. Pruning, does not allow "wild" growth. The the branch comforms to the will of the prunner.

If you are bringing forth “Fruit of the Spirit”, really, not just dieing to your flesh, expect to be pruned by God. That is, removal of things in our lives that actually hinder additional fruit growth, i.e. evidence or proof of God in us. This can only be done by God. This is not about self improvement, self help, self analysis, or behavior modification, which are works of the flesh by your own will. This is not because of sin or is it chastening of the Lord. This is, by the will of God, it's about being whole, being healed. Revisiting painful things in our lives is not pleasant. If we are to be truly free, our loving caring Father carefully prunes away, trims things that we don’t consider, or like to think about, but the Holy Spirit is aware of. Jesus came to heal the broken hearted. This is a spiritual event, a healing of our soul that while uncomfortable, has far greater benefit than we know; it’s for God’s purpose. It is received in and by faith, trusting in the loving kindness of God, by the Holy Spirit, in that we embrace or allow God to touch those “painful hurts” or the “NOT ALLOWED” zones of out heart.

Those who the Lord sets free, truly free, to worship Him in Spirit and in truth, are and will be free in fact, if we abide in TRUTH. Truly free so that we will not view life or people through the pain of our own experiences, we will not judge others by the measure that has been met to us in this life. This is as much a work of God as salvation, baptism of the Holy Spirit, or prophesying, it is reality. If the Holy Spirit moves on you about “issues” in your life, don’t run and hide from the pain. Know that if you are truly in Christ, Anointing, it is God who is working in you!

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

John 8:35 And the servant abides not in the house for ever: but the Son abides ever. 36If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

John 14:6Jesus said……, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Hebrews 2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

Matthew 21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Amen Dave.

Quite the understanding, and encouraging too if we let it be. God does the work, we just have to let Him. Wonderful! And what is he doing? bringing us to perfection in love and faith, filling our hearts with joy, healing our wounds, making us holy.

Let Him do His work!

Alex
