Scripture & Word 9/17/08 Remember His Words!

Luke 24:8 And they remembered his words,

At first, after looking up the verse, my thoughts were; What an unusual verse! Did I hear right? Did I just think that up? Or, did I just play bible roulette? But before I answered myself I heard the Holy Spirit say, “Remember His (Jesus) words”!

Remember His words! Then these understandings flowed.

Remember His written words. 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Remember His words and guard your speech. Matthew 12:36...I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37For by "YOUR" words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.

Remember His words He (Jesus) spoke to you personally, you alone are the bearer of those words. John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. 14He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you.

Remember His words and encourage yourself. 1 Samuel 30:6…. David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

Remember His words and be bold. Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Remember His words and be confident. Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

Remember His words and repent. Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32And whosoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaks against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. Luke 15:11-32 The Prodigal Son, was the example of repentance.

Remember His words and stand in the day of trouble. Ezekiel 14:13 Son of man, when the land sins against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it: 14Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, says the Lord GOD. 15If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts: 16Though these three men were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate. 17Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it: 18Though these three men were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves. 19Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast: 20Though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

Remember His words and judge. Matthew 15:17 Do not you yet understand, that whatsoever enters in at the mouth goes into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 18But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

Remember His words, fear and respect God in truth. John 12:48 He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Remember His words, do not cover sin. Malachi 2:17 You have wearied the LORD with “YOUR” words. Yet you say, Wherein have we wearied him? When you say, Every one that does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delights in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?

Remember His words and be wise. Proverbs 1:22 How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? 23Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. 24Because I have called, and you refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
